Week 1
Firstly, address your eating patterns, particularly since the pre-wedding days see many brides-to-be inadvertently give in to stress, prompting bouts of comfort eating. To aid your weight loss program, start drinking freshly made fruit and vegetable juices as they help to cleanse the system. Coffee and tea won’t do anything to help your complexion and, being diuretics, dehydrate the body. Instead start the day with a glass of hot water with a squeeze of fresh lemon, which neutralizes acidity and stimulates the bowels. Ban all junk food like crisps and fast food, even the so-called healthy microwave meals as they have far too much salt content. If you want to snack, replace with top detox food like apples, grapes, garlic, ginger and onions. You’ll want to clean your bowels in the first week so increase your mango intake as it contains bromelin and an enzyme called papain which helps break down protein wastes. Cross out carbonated drinks from your shopping list. Not only do they rot the teeth, they also make you bloated and disrupt the digestive process. Replace them with a cool refreshing glass of water, of which you should be drinking eight a day. Have a glass 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after your meals as this aids the digestive process and helps the body to eliminate toxic build-up. This regime will help change your body’s energy levels and help stabilize the inner body and reduce hunger pangs.

Week 2
Achieve a beautiful bridal glow by feeding your skin and hair with nutritious food to help enhance and promote glossy hair and dewy skin. For the next few weeks, avoid red meat as it can clog the bowels and replace with delicious fresh fish, nuts, seeds and leafy green vegetables full of essential fatty acids (EFAs) vital for radiant skin. Choose low-fat variations of products but make sure you check the labels because some foods claiming to be 90 percent fat free still have 10g to 15g of fat per 100g, which is quite high.

As well as controlling your diet, your body also needs a detox, so give your skin a thorough clean out by exfoliating and body polishing. This works on two levels:
1. The action of polishing is a little workout in itself and guaranteed to get the heart pumping!
2. The massage techniques along with the body polishing’s active ingredients will stimulate the circulation. This helps the body to eliminate trapped toxins, break down fat and improve skin tone.

The Bharti Vyas Body Polishing Routine
Step 1
Ultimate Liquid Mineral Salts (200ml) £19.99 Concentrated liquid blends of Dead Sea minerals, including magnesium, zinc and potassium are massaged into the area until absorbed. ‘Minerals stimulate the circulation and are extremely healing too,’ says Bharti. Use the palms of your hands to massage them in. The palms of your hands contain your body’s highest magnetic field and will further help to boost circulation.
Step 2

Ultimate Body Polisher (200ml) £22.99Wet the body and use the palms of your hands to apply the Body Polisher. The Polisher contains Jojoba Spheres, Ylang Ylang and Capsicum oil, which stimulate circulation. Using the balls of your fingers, massage the affected area. Massage as deeply as you can and spend extra time concentrating on the worst areas. Finish off by sweeping your palms towards your thighs draining the toxins you have loosened.
Step 3

Ultimate Firming Cream (100ml) £29.99Use the palms of your hand to massage in the Firming Cream, which contains seaweed and pseudo collagen, helping to lift and tone the area and stimulate circulation.

Week 3
Sleep slows down circulation and the toxins you breathe in during the day slow down the lymphatic system. No wonder we look puffy and drained when we wake up! And if you suffer from a puffy face or a double chin, this can often make you look and feel much larger all over. You can either use a dry massage or use a face therapy oil (Ultimate Face Oil £50 for 100ml).To combat double chin, pinch and drain to help remove trapped fluids and help break down fat. Position your thumbs beneath your chin and use your three middle fingers of both hands and grab some skin – pinch and release. Move along the jawline and pinch again. Repeat this until you have reached the corners of your jawbone. Apply sustained pressure here and just beneath your ear lobes for a few seconds. For puffiness around the eyes, include a daily eye massage twice. It will act as a pump for the eyes, stimulating your lymphatic system to train any stagnating fluid or toxins. Close your eyes and feel the bony rims of your eye sockets. Start at the outer edge and use your third finger to trace gently around the rims. Apply more pressure across your brow at the point your eyebrows meet. Repeat this twice a day.Always include the neck. This will help to tone and lift the neck and help to drain excess fluid and toxins by stimulating your lymphatic system. Work your way from the bottom of one side of the neck and, in large upward sweeping motions, massage up to your chin, then continue to the middle. Repeat on other side of the neck.

For the cheeks, apply your cream with the palms of your hands and push up and outwards towards the ears to help drain toxins.Facial exerciseTo help tone your jowls, try this simple facial exercise daily.Rest one elbow on a firm surface. Cup your chin in the palm of your hand and push it into the palm, which should resist the pressure.Hold for a slow count of five. Repeat five times.

Week 4
If you’ve been following a healthy eating pattern coupled with exercise, you should be well on your way to radiance. All you have to do is maintain your body until the Big Day and ensure you eat the right food to maintain your energy. Avoid chocolates or biscuits as they give you a sugar high and leave you feeling more tired than you were before.

Stick to grapes, cherries or an apple, all of which raise blood sugar slowly.Don’t forget to pamper your body – treat it to a full body wrap. This helps give your body a final toning before your wedding and will tighten up any fat you have softened and drain any excess toxins that may have just been released due to your lifestyle change. It is also extremely relaxing and will leave the skin feeling soft and supple. The BVM Ayur full body wrap costs £75 and takes 2hrs.

A few days before the wedding, apply a home made firming mask which will have a tightening and toning effect on your face. Mix together two heaped teaspoons of gram flour with a teaspoon of honey and a tablespoon of water. Blend into a thick paste. Use your fingers to apply on the neck and face. Leave on for ten minutes. Remove with a damp cotton wool ball. Making sure you do not drag the skin. Then rinse off and moisturise. If your skin is on the dryer side, replace the water with double cream. This will act as a moisturiser too. Gram flour has a tightening and drawing effect on the skin and will give it an instant lift. For long term help, use the draining and pinching method above. This is good for muscle tone and helps remove toxic waste.
